Christmas at Ulcombe

On Friday the 8th December the Christmas festivities started for Ulcombe School with the Nativity at All Saints Church in Ulcombe. The Owlets looked wonderful in their new costumes and told the story confidently to the whole school and their families. Barn Owls and Tawny Owls shined as wonderful singers. Rev. John, the staff and children were all thrilled, after not being able to perform in the church for several years, to be back there again.

On Monday the children arrived to find that an Elf had arrived in each of their classes. They got up to mischief each day.  They also delivered games, jelly beans and presents. Finally on Thursday they delivered a snow machine and music. Playtime was a lot of fun!

Barn Owls have been completing a DT project, making their own Christmas stockings. They designed them, made them and evaluated their work. Their dedication and hardwork was impressive.

Owlets enjoyed a Christmas scavenger hunt phonics lesson.

They also used their knowledge of 3D shapes to create their own snack boxes to use while watching a Christmas film.

Amanda, our cook, created an amazing Christmas dinner, which everyone enjoyed. Mrs Coleman and Mrs Hickling both managed to do their meetings from Ulcombe on Wednesday, I wonder why?

The Christmas Fayre was so much fun. The children made reindeer food, threw snowballs, played games, purchased snacks and enjoyed the very popular chocolate tombola and lucky dip.
